The Cavan Art Academy

The Cavan Art Academy grew out of Valerie Kent’s desire to offer an art educational experience that is more than its parts:  It is courses, workshops, a place to celebrate social events and milestones, a team building facility at all levels of expertise.  It is where artists  of all ages can learn to enjoy confidence in their creative abilities.
Cavan Art Academy is on 7 acres, along the Cavan Creek, where outdoor classes and indoor studio art classes and programs can be held.  Artists of all ages can be nurtured and encouraged.
There is friendly, courteous, patient, respectful and knowledgeable instruction for all:  the holiday art camps, the portfolio preparation group, in an art birthday party and in a professional level art class or workshop, at Friday APint Night and at the private painting parties.  It is a venue where Corporate Team Building is a very important concept and the needs of the Corporation and its staff can be tailored and accommodated  as required.
All of these activities are consciously directed to interaction and an exchange of ideas, and are built around a central concept - the creative artistic spirit in each person.
It is a unique educational art facility with professional aspirations.  It has limited class sizes in a rural setting close to the four corners of Cavan, Ontario. It is slightly more than one hour east of Toronto, 20 kilometers southwest of Peterborough.  It is close to Highways 401, 115, 7, and 7a.
The success of the Cavan Art Academy will be the high quality of courses and workshops that will be offered both daytime and evening throughout the week.  The school will have an ease of use, will be conducive to relaxation, and a stress-free environment, a place where self-expression of participants has importance and suits the needs of the individuals. Yoga will be offered.
Cavan Art Academy will be open to allowing participants to find their “Art Voices” and to dream and create in painting, thus expressing their passion for art.  It will introduce participants to the world of art and be a one-stop resource.
The Cavan Art Academy will strive to improve ability, to offer programs for personal enjoyment, professional advancement and work to make YOUR artistic interests a reality.
